Pantry Re-purpose

It's that time of year again! Summer has officially wrapped up, we have celebrated Labor Day, babes are back in school and it's time to get organized, again. As an elementary turned preschool teacher, September always feels like the start of a new year more than January ever does. Getting back in the groove with meal planning, bedtimes and routines.

Over the past few months, our pantry became an unorganized mess. Every time I opened the door, it just stressed me out, and it became a collection of random items without a home. It's tough to get into a new groove and kick off the season, when you have such an eye sore staring you in the face. You know, those projects where it feels like there is so much to do, that you don't even know where to start?

Enter Lindsey, who I thankfully collaborated with from Simplicity Reclaimed. Lindsey is a professional organizer, and the cutest new Mama right here in Wilmington. She streamlined this process so quickly, gave me lots of helpful tips and kept me motivated to get it done. I simply sent Lindsey a photo of my pantry, and she began to build a detailed personal plan for me to tackle this goal. She thought of everything, included links to containers and labels, and gave me step by step instructions.
Of course, the first step in organizing anything is a good clean, but what about after that? Throughout the process, I sent Lindsey some more photos of my progress, and she tweaked our plan as we went along. She even created these functional labels through her etsy shop, to help me keep things simple.
Lindsey's top three tips that you can implement yourself in your pantry are,
-Categorize food using labeled bins
-Empty individually wrapped foods from their outer box into bins
-Use lazy susans and can risers so that you can easily find what you are looking for.

Simplicity Reclaimed offers free consultations, and is currently offering a 10% discount to Heart & Home readers on a DIY plan, or one free hour of organizing with any hands-on
organizing package. To contact Lindsey go to http://simplicityreclaimed.com or follow her on instagram @ simplicityreclaimed.
Lindsey truly took out all of the guess work and helped me transform this space so quickly. What space in your home is needing some extra attention this fall?
