Happy November friends! Halloween is behind us and now it's full speed ahead into the holiday season! Even though we aren't hosting Thanksgiving this year (we will spend it with my parents, and in laws) I always love to pull out our wedding china and set our table. Our tablescape is the same from previous years, I like a clean and simple look since I leave it set all month.
I purchased our mercury glass pumpkins the first fall we were married, over 5 years ago and have used them so many times! They have been in 3 homes and one of the stems was a causality during a move, but a little super glue and it's back in business.
My favorite part of the table are the pilgrims though. They were my grandparents who are no longer with us, and when cleaning out their home my mom found these, and saved them for me because she thought they looked like my style. Every year when I pull them out I love this memory and think about all the Thanksgivings I shared with them.
When we registered for our wedding china years ago, we were immediately drawn to the elegant simplicity of the gold and the monogram. I felt like these pieces were timeless and could be mixed and matched for different holidays. If you look closely, you'll notice we broke protocol a bit with our initials. Traditionally, the monogram on china is just the wife's initials, but because these were our formal pieces, and Josh would be sharing just as many meals on them, we used our married monogram.
