February / March Book Review

Hi friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. This post has been a long time coming...obviously. I always forget how quickly February slips by, and we were gone for a week of March which included zero reading! So instead of listing one or two books for each month, I just combined. Here are the books that I read through the months of February and March.

Out of the Spin Cycle

I just adore Jen Hatmaker and anything she writes, so it's no surprise how much I loved this devotional. It is the the perfect gift to a new or young Mama, and is filled with so much support, purpose and perspective. Each devotional left me feeling refreshed and encouraged. I can not recommend this book enough.

The secret to southern charm

So I actually listened to this book on audible (p.s. not sponsored just a big fan) but if you are a busy Mama like I am, audible is life changing. You can even purchase books, and then return them if you do not care for them for any reason!

Back to the book...this book is the second in a series and as soon as I finished the first, Slightly South of Simple I had to keep going. Enjoyed this book so much and loved being transported to the beautiful setting of Peach Tree Bluff. Side note, the narrator of this book on audible is an older southern lady that sounds just like someone you would know from church. Made me love it even more!

Bringing up Bebe

Loved this different perspective on raising children in different cultures, and the constant pressures that motherhood and parenting bring. Such a loaded topic, and yet it still had me laughing out loud! Such a fun read for any Mom.

Confessions of a domestic failure

I also listened to this book on audible and it was very funny, while very honest about what new motherhood looks like, but I'll be honest, I did not love it. I felt like it got a little negative, a little too often, and just wasn't what I was hoping for.

No Bad Kids

This book came highly recommend by some girlfriends of mine and I listened to it too on audible. It was read by the author, which I really enjoyed because it almost felt like I was getting to be in a toddler behavior seminar, every time I listened to it. As an early childhood educator, I loved her approach to young children's emotions, and felt extremely empowered after reading it. Highly recommend to those of you in the toddler stage.

So as you can see, this review was very baby heavy, but let's be honest so is my life right now. I have already dug into a couple of my April reads, and I am so looking forward to a book that is getting ready to be released. Stay tuned for my favorites from this month, and I would love to know what you are reading these days?
