Easter Basket Ideas
Happy Holy week friends! Even with the world feeling a bit turned upside down, we will still celebrate Easter this weekend, even though it may look and feel a bit different, than ever before. Our planned celebrations include an early morning visit from the Easter bunny, getting Everette dressed in her Easter dress, streaming my Dad's sermon from home, zooming with our Sunday school class, and a backyard egg hunt later in the afternoon.
We will certainly miss seeing our church and extended family this year, but I want to keep things as normal, and celebratory as possible, so I'm planning to cook our traditional Easter lunch, just for the three of us. Ham, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, strawberry salad, and rolls. Everette and I have also been up to some fun Easter activities this week, dying eggs of course, making bunny bait, resurrection rolls, and whipping up some rice krispy treats.
Pulling the Easter basket together might be at the bottom of your to do list right now, but here are a few ideas to help! Thanks to amazon, target drive up, and local curbside pickup, you can still easily pull it off!
Each year I like to put some new fun outdoor supplies in our basket like sidewalk chalk, and bubbles. I also like to put in some things we will need for all the beach and boat days coming, and they are coming friends! Sunscreen, a towel, and new sand toys.
We have of course out grown our swimsuits, and shoes from last year, so I always like to include a new swimsuit and natives for the upcoming season. I'm a big fan of sprinkling in necessities for holiday treats, so our basket this year also has some new pajamas, and Peppa pig underwear for my little one.
To keep it exciting, I of course had to add some cute chocolate bunnies, happy hoppers gummy bears, and a some Easter M & M's. In the past, I've always included some sort of a bunny lovey, but this year I traded that out for a new Easter book, for her to keep and enjoy over the years. With all the let down in the world right now, I can't wait to see her excited face on Easter morning when she sees her basket.
However you are spending the holiday this year, I pray it will be full of hope and joy for you and your family. Happy Easter from our home to yours.
